Let's Ramble....

I can't help it. It is in my nature to be wordy and to ramble. So be prepared for a chaotic rambling of jumbled thoughts in my head.

I've been thinking A LOT lately about my business. So many things ahead of me.
(Which should be read as: There's rarely a time when I'm not thinking about HinckleDoodle.)

I have always struggled with blogging, but it's something I think would be fruitful in the long run. It's all a matter of finding a balance between my available time and figuring out what works best for me--frequency and content-wise.

Do you all blog? Any tips would be great! I most likely will spend hours researching blogs that interest me and try to bundle it all up to fit me and HinckleDoodle. But it would be much easier if you all just throw tips at me like beads at a Mardi Gras festival! So commence the throwing, I have my safety gear on.

Another thing I'm considering is setting up a Big Cartel shop. It's always interested me because it's so artsy-focused! I chose Etsy because of it's growing popularity and it is also magnificently easy to use. Though Big Cartel has no listing/sales fees! I would be much happier to be able to bundle blog and shop together and have it all handled by me and that's what Big Cartel offers for a reasonable month-to-month no contract fee.
Or just branch off and start my own website...but I'm not THAT tech-savvy to do it alone! And I don't have any/enough upfront money to hire anyone. So if you're interested in helping me out of the kindness of your heart and you think you can capture the vision that is HinckleDoodle...I'd be MOST GRATEFUL!

So many things to consider....

OH and I'm SOOOooooOOOOoooOOOOooooOOOOO close to starting production of coloring books all hand drawn, printed, and bound by....
(pause for dramatic effect)....ME!
But Project: Color Me Badd (do you remember that group?) is for another blog post.

Conclusion: One thing I hope to fix with my blogging skills is my tendency to be lengthy lol. So for now, let the tornado of rambled thoughts settle you back down gently, and we'll call it good for the day.

You've done well, blog reader.
Maybe next time I'll have a more focused blog post the next time we meet.

Maybe.

Happy Umbilical Cord Separation Day....TO ME!

So yesterday was my birthday...I am now 25 years YOUNG. (Right? Yes, please agree!)

We're still in a hotel and our money situation isn't the greatest. but we shall prevail! My husband and daughter spoiled me well! Thru all that we've been thru with this move, home really is where the heart is. I don't think we could have spent my birthday any other way.

We started off the morning, bright and early with Dunkin Donuts!!
A Dunkin Donuts is pretty much on every corner here in NY and I had never really experienced one before and OMG....
We got a dozen donuts ranging from Glazed to French Cruller to Vanilla with Sprinkles to Bavarian Creme...oh the list goes on and on!
And I had a delicious Chicken Salad on a Croissant that was IMPECCABLE!
Darn now I'm hungry for another one of those again.
Stupid only having one vehicle!

Then I got to go and spend $100 at Joann's Craft Store! Oh it was the most fun to just pick and grab and buy so much for 100 smackeroos!

I definitely took advantage of all the deals.
I scored fabric, felt, thread, buttons (that are to die for!), chalk, more hand sewing needles
and a thread organizer...
It doesn't sound like much but wow if you could see the amount of stuff I walked out with! My whole crate was full when I went to the cash register and the lady in front of us had overheard it was my birthday and gave me a 40% off coupon that she had! So freakin nice and wonderful! I would have done the same thing. It's nice to know that are world isn't so cruel all the time. All the bad things that can happen in life get surpassed by these moments of genuine niceness!

Then I got to pick where we ate lunch
and enjoyed my favorite: Chinese!
I'm half Filipino and also enjoyed my first 6 years of life in Okinawa, Japan (that's probably why I heart kawaii so much!!).
So I'm all about the Asian persuasion! :)
Here's my lil Owie Pie behind the glass over our booth. It was so cool.
We used to have these cork artwork all around our house in Japan!
My delicious first plate! Oh my gosh, soooo goood!
And someone had told Drew this place was terrible. It was amazing!
Owie took a picture of Drew and I :)
Love my lil family!
The china buffet was the perfect way to end my birthday festivities!

And this morning, I got to finally check facebook and saw my doodle from Kitty from Kittypinkstars!
Instead of an Owenism, I'll leave you to bask in the glory that is this doodle!
I want to blow it up poster size and hang it up in our future apartment!

She even added my highlights in my hair and some of my plushies!
Isn't this just amazing!?

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!
